Prenatal Yoga- Tuesdays, 6pm
Register from the Class Calendar or by Phone/Text; 505-232-2772
Prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to childbirth preparation that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe in most pregnancies, and can:
- Improve sleep
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
- Decrease lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches and shortness of breath
- Decrease the risk of preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension and intrauterine growth restriction — a condition that slows a baby's growth
Prenatal yoga can also help you meet and bond with other pregnant women and prepare for the stresses of being a new parent!
In prenatal yoga, you'll explore ways to reduce the aches and pains that accompany pregnancy while preparing for your journey in a nurturing and supportive environment. This weekly class is appropriate for all experience levels and stages of pregnancy. We focus on special breathing techniques, opening the hips, calming the mind, and preparing the body for birth.
Registrations: Please register by selecting the appropriate class from our class calendar. Because this class is lead by an active doula, there are times we may need to reschedule due to the unpredictability of birth! Should this occur, we will contact you as soon as possible- thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Classes are $10 each, and packages are available. Class is led by Sarah of Desert Birth and Wellness.
